I have two decades experience in professional practice and have worked on many of the landmark projects completed in Dublin during that time such as Ussher Library (Trinity College), the National Gallery Millennium wing, Dundrum Town Centre and the Elm Park Complex on Merrion Road as well as many other commercial and residential projects.
Building your house or extension is never a hassle-free experience. 4square is here to ensure that whatever problems you do experience, structural ones are not among them.
Welcome to the about page. If you've searched this far its likely you are considering or are in the middle of a build and it is suggested you hire an Engineer. Somewhere in your mind you may be asking- what for? Isn't this just an unnecessary expense? Aren't structural issues the builder’s responsibility? Its just an extension- what can go wrong? Well, you’ld be amazed. Structural problems often don’t manifest themselves until well after the builders have cleared off. An engineer’s fee for structural design and supervision is a small fraction of the cost of rectifying any mistakes that occur afterwards. Too much of my work these days is spent writing reports on works carried out during the boom by firms of questionable competence who have long since disappeared over the hill. This is not a scenario that anyone would wish for in their home and its avoided by correct design and supervision at construction stage.
